Even if I let my wife go to meet her and stay behind the security check going directly to the baggage pickup, I still don't know if the Terminal "E" is 30.06 posted or not. If so, it is a long trip back to the parking area.
The easy fix to this ordeal is to back Gov. Perry and get his new measure put into law that we can carry anywhere rather than having to take a lawyer with us everywhere we go!

Well, why didn't you say so in the first place?
None of the terminals are posted 30.06 compliant. There are signs on the entrances that have the 30.06 wording, but the letters are about 1/8-1/4 inch high. The airports are owned by the City of Houston Airport Authority - government, so even if the signs were compliant they would not apply to CHL.
If you must go into the secure area, by all means, leave it in the vehicle.
No one here would ever offer advice to carry where you can not legally do so, well most of us anyway. I pack wherever and whenever I can, including airports. I picked up friends at IAH recently at several terminals. I met them at the exits of the secured area. No problem. Pack away!
You can already legally carry in the airports. What Gov. Perry wants to do has no bearing on this since the airport is not off limits and governments can not keep you from doing so unless more legislation is passed.
Please forgive me for not understanding the issue, since there is really not much need in "lawyers" in this instance. This is pretty much a non-issue as far as CHL is concerned unless you are really over cautious, in which case you find it necessary to obey all non-compliant 30.06 signs. Just because the airports may not like CHL you are well within the law to carry there. No gray area - black and white.
