1911 Condition 1 carry

New to CHL...shooter for many years. I am 100% comfortable carrying open in condition one when able (deer lease, hiking etc.) Not sure if I will be as comfortable in condition 1 with an ISWB holster.
Any advice?

I've carried 1911s "cocked and locked" plenty of times in an IWB holster with no issues.
Don't see it as a big concern.

I do it with my Browning Hi Power. Not worried about it as long as I carry it in a holster.

That's a good point as well. No matter what I carry, a quality holster that fully covers the trigger guard is a must.

Is there any other way to carry? My 1911 is cocked, locked, and loaded 24/7. No reason to give yourself something else to think about when you need to use it.

Cocked and locked on a full chamber is the only way it makes sense to carry a 1911. The guns are incredibly safe, and the anxiety that people have about carrying that way with that pistol is entirely psychological. It has little or no basis in fact. I carried 1911s for a while, and they are still my favorite pattern of pistol to shoot. That I don't carry them very often anymore is more about adjustments made to my carry rotation that make more sense for me personally. I had two, a 5" and a 3", and I recently sold the 3" to another member of this forum.

It was a little unnerving for me at first, but now I wouldn't consider carrying it any other way. Love my 1911 Commander.

It is unnerving to me when my Hi Power or Colt Mustang isn't cocked and locked.

Been carrying mine in an IWB holster for a very long time with no problems. As TAM said, it's the only logical way to carry a 1911.
