Carl, Welcome to the forum. Great bunch of folks here as you will learn , if you don't already know. My son-in-law is a Firefighter/Paramedic in Comal County ESD, Canyon Lake. I got him a 4th Generation Glock 22 for his carry.

Welcome!

The medical professional/gunowner dynamic has always interested me. Some (not me) view such a person as a hypocrite for saving lives all day, but at the same time being prepared to take lives if the necessity arises. It's an extremely ignorant accusation, IMO, but one that I've heard nonetheless. Have you ever had to deal with people like that, or has any thought on the subject ever crossed your mind? I'm just curious to get the perspective of someone who is actually in that position.

As an RN I can tell you that I have no conflict. My duty as an RN is to save and/or protect life---same as my responsibility as a mother, a grandmother, a woman, and a responsible gunowner. Sometimes in life you have to make life/death decisions in the split second--that is why to be a Responsible medical professional-or gunowner-you have to have already made those decisions in your mind ahead of time
