Been lurking here after finding this site a few days ago. Have learned a bunch and appreciate all of the sharing.

New to handguns, but not new to firearms. So, have been only shooting pistol and revolver for about five weeks. Getting better, but need much practice.

Take CHL class May 30, so getting a bit nervous.........

Absolutely nothing to be worried about. If you can hit the target, you can pass. The shooting part sounds bad when you read it, but when you get there, it is a piece of cake.

I had only shot my pistol/any pistol (that was not attached to an arcade game) maybe 5 or 6 times before taking my test. Scored 245.

You will be fine.

FRJEFF,

Where are you taking the class?

Taking the class with CHL-Texas (http://www.Chl-Texas.com) and the class will be at the Lone Star Gun Range in Lockhart.

Matt Billingsley(at the range) could give you info or, you can register at the Chl-Texas website.

Ross and Dottie Bransford are the instructors.

I took the class in the same place from Ross and Dottie on 2/14. The DPS web site says my license was issued today. You will not get bored at their class and nothing to worry about.

Thanks to all for the encouragement.

Looking forward to the class actually, just don't know if I'm a good enough shot. Have likely put about 300 rounds thru the Kahr P9. Matt says I'll probably not have any problem passing, but I'm the perpetual "what if" type.

I'll just keep practicing with the Kahr (and, more cheaply get some additional trigger time with my little Walther P22).

I'll keep ya'll posted.

If you can hit the broad side of a barn from the inside you should pass the shooting test OK.

Welcome to the forum. Nothing wrong with revolvers. I have carried a revolver since the early 80's.
