New Guy

Hey guys/gals

Obviously I am new to the site. It has a lot of great info, and "The Waiting Room" has a lot of people sharing my pain right now! Today I finally called my senator, and her office was very helpful(they actually returned my call, same day!). The extremely nice lady I spoke with is going to get my application on the fast track and call me tomorrow. I wish I would have done this before day 109!

Anyways, great site and I should become a regular here!

My carry gun will be my Sig p239 or the Para Warthog I am getting for my birthday coming up :cheers2:

So how did the conversation go?

"Hey senator, hook me up w/ my chl faster."

"Sure thing, buddy!"

I didn't know you could do that.

Welcome to the forum!

Well I didn't talk to the actual Senator.

I called her office, and the gentlemen that answered directed me to the liaison and told me that she has helped people before with their CHL. I left her a message, she was in Austin for sessions, I thought this was the dead end. BUT to my delight she called me back this evening. I told her how long I have been waiting, she got my DL# and app. #. She also told me that she was excited about my message because its easy to take care of CHL's, the applications are apparently pretty easy to track down. She told me she would call the DPS first thing tomorrow to get mine on the fast track and call me back. She couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. I suggest anyone who has been waiting a long time call their Senator's office.

Which senator? Sounds like someone we should try to keep in office.

Jane Nelson

I called Florence Shapiro's office this morning (they split my county, and I thought she was my senator), and her office was very helpful too. A lady there was taking down my info, and then redirected me when she saw my address. :txflag:

I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up until I see "Application Approved" but the fact that she called me back is very encouraging.
