As for as I know there reputation is great. They have a first class range. I do know they were moving things around the last time I was in there to make more room for more inventory. Ask for Rick Cheek tell hin Carl Carlson sent you in.

I'm sending Mrs DRW to Lock n' Load the next time their class is open. I'll be happy to post a report when the class is done!

Lock n' Load is where Mrs. Oldgringo had her fourth (4th) set of fingerprints taken by FAST. After submitting the FAST prints and mailing and e-mailing everybody we could find :txflag: who might have some influence, her plastic was recieved some 160 days after initial submittal.

Save yourself a lot of grief and pay the $10 for FAST fingerprints while you're at Lock 'n Load. :thumbs2:

Well, Mrs DRW took her CHL class at Lock n' Load today, and I regret to have to say that her report was not particularly glowing.

1) Spent most of the time just waiting around (that might be typical no matter where you get your class, though).

2) Some items on the test weren't covered in the lectures.

3) Foul language from the instructor (Jay). :mad5

4) The instructor jokingly said "If you do such-and-such, I'll shoot you" to students, twice.

I was sorry to hear this report. I'm taking my class from them in two weeks and I'll be curious if I see the same unprofessional stuff. I'm pretty disappointed that I sent my conservative and sensitive wife to Lock N' Load. I wish I had sent her to Fort Worth to Crossfire, instead.

I can't speak for the CHL instructor or the class. Sounds like a little man with a big gun 'showing out' for the class. You might want to mention this to the store owner prior to signing up for your class?

Lock n' Load is a FAST fingerprint location in east Texas. I suggest that you consider having FAST fingerprints accompany your initial CHL applications to Austin.

Took my class yesterday. All in all i was pleased there was some waiting because of some equipment problems on the range but other than that I was happy. :txflag:

I already signed up for my class a week ago (I paid for both hers and mine at the same time). No refunds is their policy so I'm committed, otherwise I'd be going to Crossfire.

BUMMER ! In that case, I'd suggest you endure the class and get a set of FAST fingerprints while you're there.

Good luck.

Yep, that's my plan. When the renewal comes, though, I'll drive to DFW for that.

Yeah, it's disappointing that you have to get permission to bear arms, but I don't want a Class A Misdemeanor on my record. :(
