A freind of mine your size wears a Kimber Ultracarry II .45 OWB under a very light weight shirt, I never noticed it and I looked pretty closely
Look... I'm wearing a full sized M&P 45 in an OWB holster right now, and you can't see it either.

I use an MTAC with a full size 1911. Just about 3 o'clock and I buy XL Long shirts. Oh, I'm 6'2" 260 and my gun is very comfortable.
Carry guns:
SIG P239 in 357sig
SIG P239 in 40sw
SIG P220
SIG GSR 1911
All with Crimson Trace Laser Grips

6'1 325 built like Warren Sapp. 46 waist. I got the cross bread supper tuck. I wear a suit or a shirt and tie every day to work and needed a tuckable option. I haven't started carrying outside the office or the house yet as my plastic isn't in yet. I take my gun off when I get into the car and go into non-owned buildings or public place.

When I disarm I lock up the weapon. Making sure to keep it concealed at all times. I can carry like this due to the fact that I own the building where I work ect. So I like the Supper Tuck for us larger out-a-round guys. I also have a LCP that I will wear around the ankle when driving long distances across Texas. Or a shoulder holster made by Galco. Another good choice for those road trips. Also when I wear a Suit I will sometime wear a pancake holster with my 1911.

I am built the same as you. Get a Supertuck. It's the most comfortable way I've found to carry.

TAM, you are right! I can't see your full size M & P! Your concealment method is really woking! "rlol"

I'm built like most of the big guys here
I have the supertuck with a 5.11 gun belt and also the 5.11 holster shirt.
I can't say the supertuck makes me feel comfortable. even with the gun belt (very recommended by the way) it's not that comfortable and there is a bump sticking out where your gun meets your "love handle"
the holster shirt is nice however you need to get used to it being so tight on your body and there is the whole "how fast you can draw" issue.
I don't believe it's a good solution for the hot days the shirt materials ain't that "breathing" if you know what I mean.
I wish I could tell you about a good solution but i don't have one.
I guess I hope I'll pick up something from this thread...

I have not been carrying that long but I am 6' 8" and what you might call a very robust fellow this is a very serious concern for me. I started with a Comp-Tac Gladiator OWB holster thinking being shaped like a pear with no rear end to hold up my pants I could never wear IWB holsters. I decided to buy a MTAC and have been wearing it for 2 weeks and have to say it is suprisingly comfortable. It does take alittle extra work to get on but once on place I am good to go with no worries. As the last poster stated a good gunbelt makes all the difference. I use a 1.5" wide bull leather belt from http://www.thebeltman.net.

RPB re: the photo with blue shirt and badge showing.

Isn't this a great country when even left-handed people
are allowed to have guns? :-)

I am a huge fan of Mexican Wedding Shirts (Guayaberas) during the summer, even before I was a CHL. I have a smaller build and it is much easier to cover the "bump" with these full cut shirts and the slit right at 3 o'clock makes for easy access. I have several of these and usually pick them up at Fiesta Supermarket for about $18. They also make great BBQ shirts when you aren't carring,I guess thats why my friends call them "4 Beer Shirts". The pockets are big enough that you don't have to ask someone to hold your beer before you do something dumb :smilelol5:

All discussion of the merits of diet and exercise aside, I'm about 5'11, and 290, with a 48 waist. I tend to dress causally most of the time prior to getting the CHL (ex.. polos, tshirts, jeans, shorts, khakis). I've heard good things about the supertuck, but mostly from skinny people.

So, my large-bodied, more-to-love friends, what works?
I'm 6'6" with a 42" waist and weigh close to 280 lbs, and I have two supertucks and love them. The trick is getting them positioned right and having a good belt. If they're too far forward, they cut into your leg when you sit down. If they're too far back, they dig into your side. Once you find the right spot, which for me is right inline with my side seam of my jeans, they're very comfortable. I can carry my steel Kimber 4" 1911 and two spare magazines all day and it's very comfortable, and that's definitely not a small or light pistol.

I can point you to some pictures I posted in another thread a while back if you're interested.

5"11, 245#, Dunlap disease in full force. I'm going to be the odd man out it appears. I carry a Commander in and SOB holster, been that way for almost 6 years. Works well for everything except sitting.

OK, a few of you guys are apparently 6-6 or 6-8 and near or over 300 pounds. Which begs the question ... why do you need a gun at all?

:biggrinjester:

j/k of course, but allows me a chance to post one of my favorite lines from the "Police Academy" series of movie farce, one character speaking about police cadet Bubba Smith (the ex football player):

"If all the cops looked like him, there wouldn't be any crime."
