Actually no (a minor nit of mine). The Edwards aquifer does not contact Kerr County at all.
Our aquifer out here is the Edwards-Trinity Plateau Aquifer which extends NW to Midland-Odessa.
Our recharge area is huge and includes everything from here towards Midland-Odessa.
We are on the very deepest end of it and have a huge underground supply of water that is in this
area over 800 feet thick with the top at about 2000 ft ASL. I don't believe it extends even to Kerrville though.

The Edwards (full name is Edwards-Balcones Fault Zone) runs from Bracketville to Kyle in
a narrow arc, under San Antonio. Its recharge area is well south and east of us.

All of our runoff ends up in the LLano to the north and then into the Colorado, to Austin.

FYI, Kerrville does a lot of recharging of their underground supply from the Guadelupe so you should be
fine for a long time.

Aquifer discussions can sometimes turn violent, which is part of the reason that I always carry (gun content).

I worked at DFW airport for 15 years I know they dont like weapons in the airport on the property or in the parking lots and you can bank on that.

They can "not like it" all they want, but it will have no effect on me when I go to the airport. If they "don't like weapons" so strongly, they should buy a private airport and put up the proper signs.

Meanwhile, I'll be carrying at DFW on Monday when I drop my 17 year old daughter off for a flight to Atlanta. And whether anyone at DFW likes it really doesn't concern me.

I am sure many like you will carry in the Airport and many will have no problem at all. Even I carry at DFW when I go to pick up my wife when she travels, but some will find themselves at security calling for help all be it very few I am sure. If its worth the the chance of being escorted to security and your weapon removed and the time and trouble to get it back for a 15 minutes of not having it on you? Not to me mine will stay in my truck if I get out and enter the terminal you and others may do as you wish I don't care I am just saying that it can be real can of worms if you get made and reported.

There is no "possible" trouble. Unless the airport posts 30.06 concealed carry is not restricted outside of security. Carry inside and avoid the possibility of theft of the gun from the vehicle.

All airports wish you would not carry in the terminals unless traveling and then you have to follow the rules for that. Hard case and locked away.

There is ZERO evidence of that, AND its just not true.

To whom would a person not violating the law be reported?

This is really a simple issue. Unless the airport is not owned by a government and is 30.06 posted, carrying a concealed handgun there is not illegal, wrong, immoral, silly or otherwise capable of causing being escorted to "security and having your weapon removed."

Why on earth would you think this could cause you any more problem than being "made" at your local Albertsons?

Unless your daughter is VERY young or disabled in some way, you won't be allowed past security to the gates.

Well, at least it's not a burglar's paradise with lots of unattended motor vehicles left in parking areas for unspecified amounts of time. Man....

At least we can say that there are no people wandering around with valuables, luggage, and lots of traveling money in their wallets.... I just can't win today.

I manage at a restaurant in Terminal E and go through security everyday almost. You can carry anywhere in the airport where you would be meeting your daughter, unless you get a pass to enter the sterile area, which as mentioned is HIGHLY unlikely.

Take your gun. Meet her at the baggage claim. That is where almost everyone else will be meeting thier people.

No 30.06 on any continental bldg (terminals E and C) or much less the rest of the airport.

Well, the long and short of it is this. Last night I called airport security and was told that not only was I not allowed to carry my gun, "regardless of CHL", in the airport or even on the premises, parking lot, etc.
I was told my vehicle was subject to "search and seizure" and if anything was found that was considered a threat it would be confiscated. An insinuation was made concerning arrest and I chose not to continue the conversation. I was getting kinda irritated about the guy's attitude. He claimed to be "a federal agent" and had total power in these situations.
Anyway I chose to leave my "expensive carry gun" behind. My wife and I both made note of the circumstance being that I had more reason to "carry" around an environment of an airport than I did going to the corner grocery. If there was ever a need to guard my family and myself around "strangers in transit",,,,,,well, you get the idea.
I had to go to the gate to get my daughter as it was very complicated for her to go from the gate to the baggage area and we didn't want her wandering around by herself. I forgot to mention she had broken her wrist while in Washington and it was in a cast. (For the record, it is long walk from the gate to the baggage area.)
Once I was in the airport, no gun, etc. I had to go through security. Guess what? I had forgotten my 2" blade Buck pocket knife that I have carried for 20 years. I was told I had the choice of either surrendering it to have it destroyed, mail it back to myself or return it to my vehicle. I opted to take it back to the truck. (For the record again, it is a long walk from the security area in Term "E" to the parking lot.)
I might add that these "federal agents" acted like they were on a mission or something. I can't believe people can be given a badge and a little authority and allow it to go to their heads like these guys!
Feeling more or less stripped of all dignity I chose to go get my daughter rather than gamble on what might happen if I argued with them about anything.
She made our connection, got the baggage and went home.
Now I am on a mission, myself. I am taking one of the cheap guns, making sure it is close to payday and my wife has access to "bail money" and make another trip to the airport. This time I will explain the law and our rights in Texas and demand to be treated in a respectable manner that is due me as an American Citizen as well as a Texan!
I chose to pick my battle and with my daughter's security in the mix this wasn't the time.

I pat myself down just before locking the car up and have caught a pocketknife on my person several times. It's such a part of my normal gear it's easy to forget.

And before packing any bag I feel compelled to completely empty it, feel all pockets, etc so I don't pull a Barry Switzer at the airport.

I can't tell if I'm a just an indoctrinated former Eagle Scout*, a paranoid, or borderline OCD. :-)

I will never understand why people call and ask if they can carry somewhere.

That ranks right up there with people telling posted places their attempt at 30.06 are not compliant.

Of course you will speak to some lamebrained individual who is programmed into telling you some line of garbage.

What do you expect? It was either the City of Houston, HPD, Homeland security, or some other idiot who does not care about your right or ability to defend yourself!

Carry concealed where legal and keep your inquiries to yourself.
