Which mailing envelope with application & documents?
So I finished my CHL class yesterday and have applied online and have gotten all my documents and the checklist ready to mail. I will schedule my fingerprints once the 48 hour time period for my online status changes. My question is does it matter what type of envelope you need to send it in? I tried searching through the threads but turned up nothing. Whether it be a large manilla envelope or standard mailing envelope. I may be over thinking it but I just wanted to be make sure. I know I need to send it certified mail and will do return receipt. I have read a lot of the threads on here and I think I have everything ready to go to be approved. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
J L

Doesn't matter. You can schedule your fingerprints anytime after completing the online app. No need to wait 48 hrs.
Armed not dangerous but potentially lethal.
CHL Application mailed 10/2/12
Plastic in hand 11/16/12

How exactly can I do that? Right after I applied online there was a button to schedule an appointment and tried it but I needed some number (that I would get once my application status changed) and now I can not get back to that page.jayinsat wrote:Doesn't matter. You could email the docs - no envelope required.

Ive never heard you could do that. Just scan the items? I have a certified copy of a judgement for criminal history and I was told only original certified copies should be sent in. What email address can they be sent to?jmra wrote:You could email the docs - no envelope required.

At the bottom of the page fill out all the boxes with your info and in the comments section state that you are attaching all documentation for you CHL app.
At the very bottom you will see tools for attaching scanned documents. I did this with my renewal and my wife's renewal. If you look at the March applicants thread you will see many are doing the same thing. Seems to shave a few weeks off the process.

Ok thanks, I think I will try this method. Should I send in the hard copies just in case?

No, no need to do that. After a week or two you will get a confirmation email saying they received your files. Then the wait starts. Have a laugh at this: viewtopic.php?f=83&t=63753" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;TxPiKapp wrote:Ok thanks, I think I will try this method. Should I send in the hard copies just in case?
