Post by Drewsta84 »

Hello All,

So my turn around time was fast compared to others I suppose Nov. 19 Packet Mailed Dec,21 License in hand :cheers2: So I did my first wally walk this afternoon felt good but awkward like most people say. I felt like the world was watching me but after a bit became more comfortable. So anywho I just wanted to pop in and say hi and i'll be here for the long haul! Attached is a picture of my current carry. After Christmas is over I will be in search of a 3" compact either 1911 or XDS well have a great evening all!

Excellent work!
Wally Walk!
Yeah. I did a different version
thereof, consisting of wearing my all black 2 piece jogging suit under cover of darkness to 'see the Christmas lights' at the local river walk. Darn proud for my first time. At first I carried unloaded just to feel the weight in my pocket and after a bit felt a little more confident. I too felt stared at! I found myself looking in people's eyes to see where theirs were! At first it felt super obvious and I imagine with more practice I'll get over it. Thank you for your post! :patriot:

Congrats and welcome to the forum!

I know I'll get some gruff from all the loyal 1911 fans on the board, but I vote for the XDs. It's replace my single stack 9mms in my carry rotation. A bit rough in the hand to shoot a huge number of rounds in one session at the range, but I would think such short 1911s would also be more snappy than their longer cousins.

Thanks all! I have been heavily considering the XDs but I really love the 1911 platform and am very comfortable with the operation of the weapon as well. I was thinking the Kimber Ultra Carry II would be my EDC. So if anyone wants to contribute to the cause let me know :txflag: haha great advice on here thank you! Everyone have a Merry Christmas!!

My Ultra Carry II is my EDC and I love it. Kimbers are worth every penny! Throw on an Wilson Combat extended slide release and one of their magazines and they are a dream to operate and shoot.
