These might be times to use the "day planner" holster. At the doctor, just set it on the counter where you might put your book you were reading while waiting. At the clothier's, you can leave it in the dressing room with your wallet. Although last time I went to get a suit, I just left it in the car and took a chance.

I was not made, but I was unhorsed.

I went to my 6 month dental checkup. The Dentist I use is very conservative and a devout Christian and so is his office staff. And they are very polite and very classy people.

But this does not stop the dental hygenists from flirting with me.

Because I was having a crown replaced and would be on my back, I moved the XD45 and holster to a pocket in my large jacket along with an extra magazine. Together these are pretty heavy.

As I got into the dentists chair, the assistant said she would take my jacket as she thought it would stay clean that way. I said No. She then came up with something else. I said No. She then came up with something else and all the other assistants chimed in.

Ugh.

So I gave her my jacket.

"My. This is a heavy jacket," She said. "What do you have in it?"

"Heavy stuff." I replied. (Lame, I know.)

"These are big pockets. You must have something big in there.." she said and made a move to open THE one.

At this point, I was about to crater. All I could say was, "I've got something really big and I can show it to you later."

Laughter.

She stopped playing with my jacket and said, "I know."

Whew.

Turns out the Wife told them about our Gunsite trip on her visit the week before.
