A correct 30.06 sign is about 2 by 3 feet. You can't miss it.

Besides, no one has ever been convicted under PC 30.06. It's the most talked-about non-issue on this forum.

I want to make sure that I am completely understanding this. If the 30.06 sign is not the 2 by 3 feet requirement, I am not required to abide by that sign according to law? What are the signs required to say? Thank you in advance!

The letters in the sign are required to be at least one inch high. That results in a sign that is about six square feet.

The wording has only been quoted about 1,000 times in this forum: "Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by holder of license to carry a concealed handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Govemment Code (concealed handgun law), may not enter this property with a concealed handgun," and the Spanish translation thereof.

They are really rare. I had never seen a valid 30.06 sign until this year.

True, I've NEVER seen one in person either, except at gun shows.

I've seen them at gun shows also. In fact, if anyone wants to see in person what a valid sign looks like, that's the place to go.

Please let's not get started again on whether they are valid. :deadhorse:

So 30.06 signs are like .380 ammo....you usually only find it at gun shows. "rlol" "rlol"

Maybe they should rename the statute to .380 "rlol"

Wanna post a link to a discussion you feel covers Signage? :grumble

I'll stop at the door, look all around, walk in keep looking for signs, and have gone as far as ask about 51%.

For example from my day today, the Salt Lick in round rock has no Signs about Possession licensed or non anywhere that I can see, but they serve hard liquor and beer. hmmmm.

I saw no signs by the TABC

Neither of these were posted
I have seen two types of signs posted in retail establishments regarding concealed weapons. What is the difference between the two?

All alcoholic beverage retailers must post one of two firearms signs.

The 51% sign is required to be posted on the premises of establishments where the possession of any concealed weapon is illegal. These are establishments that are licensed to sell alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption whose alcohol sales constitutes more than half of their gross receipts. These signs have 51% in large red letters superimposed over the warning which notes that possession of a concealed weapon on the premises is a felony.

Establishments licensed to sell alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption or establishments licensed to sell for on-premises consumption whose alcohol sales are 50% or less of total gross receipts are required to post a sign that warns that the unlicensed possession of a concealed weapon is a felony. The holder of a concealed handgun license may lawfully possess a concealed handgun on these premises.

I don't find any TABC license for their main location in Driftwood.

They don't have a liquor license for the Driftwood location. You can brink your own. They don't take plastic either.

Thanks for the input folks. You'll be pleased to hear that on Day Zero +3 I have neither inadvertently shown the pistol, nor has it fallen out the holster in the middle of a crowded Kroger. In my opinion mind, I could walk around Wal Mart in a pair of Speedos with an AK strapped to my back and no one would notice.
Thanks again.

Scire.factor:

1. You may go to this forum's "Board Index" page, click on "CHL Links"
(or similar wording) and read the 30.06 section verbatim as to its
language and other details.

2. You may access the website www.texas3006.com
for a user-populated listing of sites within Texas that have posted
(or incorrectly posted) 30.06 signs.

Keep in mind that since the data on the site is reported by citizens
willing to take that effort, it doesn't constitute a 100% accurate list of all
30.06 sites, but it definitely is a useful resource. You can search alphabetically
by cities/towns. I find that the most useful way.

Welcome to Texas.
