Prelude to a Wally Walk
I haven’t made it to Wally World yet.
But today I made a Starbuck’s stroll. I felt like it was obvious I was carrying a Bersa Thunder 380 in a front pocket holster. So a couple times I was pulling down my sweatshirt. But with no reaction from the java junkies, I decided to go across the street for some groceries, so I had a Tom Thumb tour. No problems there. I got to the point of not even noticing the hunk of metal in my pocket.
So I guess next stop, Wally Walk.

Re: Prelude to a Wally Walk
Why would it be "obvious" that you're carrying? Is it printing or are you just getting used to the cool fact that you're living out your constitutional rights? It does take some getting used to but then it gets you wondering how you lived life without it.

Yeah LT
If it is close to the date when you first got your plastic (I know how hard it might be to remember back when that was but try. It was some time after you had helped hunt the mammoths and sabre tooth tigers into extinction. ) you could do an "Anniversary Wally Walk" with all the bells and whistles and a full photo documentation to show all the young johnny come latelys how it is done.
I know you hold WallyWorld in real low regard but do it for the children...
If you're afraid I, and practically every other member here I believe, would be willing to come up and give you backup. Why we might just want to make it an annual forum gathering....

Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.
Re: Prelude to a Wally Walk
The gun may not necessarily obvious (in regards to showing or printing) but to a first time CHLer it FEELS obvious. There's a mental hurdle to get over. Society in general has been trained to think guns are bad and a gun in public is especially evil and means a crime is about to be committed. Even us gun-lovers have a mental hurdle to clear even though we know it is perfectly safe and perfectly legal. Simply knowing that if you were made is quite a rush and can be a bit stressful the first time out.."OMG! There's a man with a gun!".Hos wrote:Why would it be "obvious" that you're carrying? Well, the term wasn't cool yet but I actually did a Walmart walk back in '04.longtooth wrote: Wally Walk wasnt born when I got mine. I didnt get to go.

Re: Prelude to a Wally Walk
I had a smooth transition but my fear is I'll be digging through my pockets somewhere I'll and root up my keys, a 380, and the change I'm looking for.

I'm laughing because I thought of that too before. Cargo pants/shorts are good, use a separate pocket for everything, (except at church, so I leave the pocket holster/gun at home Sundays.)Zee wrote:I had a smooth transition but my fear is I'll be digging through my pockets somewhere I'll and root up my keys, a 380, and the change I'm looking for.
Walmart sells some brand of cargo pants/shorts with an extra string/rope/fabric thingy inside the belt loop area, but inside like a swimsuit, to help hold the pants/shorts up in addition to your belt. I like those, have probably 20 pair of them.
