1st time out and felt totally normal

#1

Post by YellowTJ »

Ok so I did get the help of the cold weather today. I had the help of a jacket. I took a half day at work to run some errands so I went home got my glock 19 with my comptac minotaur holster. I went to Wally World though I didn't complete a true walk to did go in the store of course right when I walked in the you stole something siren goes off. Quick glance and it was someone leaving. LOL yeah for a sec I thought... me?

So I got 40lbs of dog food. That was a good bend and toss in the cart test. I happened to wonder around a lot getting x-mas stuff. After a great run at wal-mart I went to Central market which also went fine. I felt a little cheated having the jacket. But it was far to cold to go without. After that I stopped at the vet to pick up my puppy.

So I have to say I was really comfortable. The holster fits very well. I do need a "real" belt but that holster really assists my less than gun belt I have. I wore it about 4 o'clock and it felt fine driving around. I really thought I'd feel different carrying but I didn't. I will do a more complete Wally World walk when I can go in just a shirt with no jacket, I bet then I'll really feel it.

Thats great!

You'll feel increasingly comfortable with it as time goes on. Soon, you won't give it a second thought really.

If you purposely leave your weapon at home for any reason, you'll actually feel naked without it.

Congratulations! :clapping:

I also just had my first concealed outing a couple of days ago. It's quite an experience. I guess it will be like wearing a seat belt. When I was young (and stupid... well stupider than I am now) I would never wear a seat belt. When I went through pilot training we did not have a choice. After that it just feels wrong to not have it on. I guess that carrying will eventually be the same way.
When the shooting starts you will always wish you had brought a bigger gun and more ammo.

Went for a job interview yesterday, forgot my weapon (would have left it in the car), felt naked for sure. I always take it with me.

i've had chl for a short time now. I'm not carrying everyday, but when I feel I can (i'm a professional musician and have to go to 51% bars all the time) . The times I have carried wearing a jacket I never think twice about it. when i have it iwb with just a shirt, I go from forgetting about it to feeling like the whole world is staring at me and back and forth.
I am getting more and more used to it though. I'm looking forward to being totally comfortable about carrying!

I've got a car safe that I secure my carry in when I do the 51% (no... I don't drink and carry, but like gwise55, I'm a professional musician). Iwb is getting easier.. I've found the right combination of weapon and holster that works well for me.
