I'm still trying to justify the cost of the CHL to Mr. Madonna, but hope to take the class soon (he's not a 'gun person').

Mr. Pax (AKA Mars) and I had many discussions when I first started carrying. It seemed a bit extreme to him. I wore him down over time, and he finally took El Gato's class. As for the financial issue, he now carries a nicer gun that I do.

He was finally convinced of the necessity when he and a good friend became temporarily disabled at about the same time. (They both still walk with somewhat of a limp.) His good friend was attacked violently at a Dave & Buster's, putting him back in the hospital and forcing him to undergo another painful surgery. He understood at that point that there are many predators among us, and it is imperative that we know how to protect and defend ourselves.

Reminds me of a true story. My daughter is very quick witted & quit outspoken. Did not get the witt from me but I can sure claim responsibility for the outspoken.

When we moved to Angelina County in 1985 both of the kids were astounded that the Parsonage had AC & Central heat. One of the preppies at School made a comment about being folks that were poor & Daughter said "Until we got to Lufkin, we were so pooo we couldnot even pay attention.
Preppie said kinda snooty, It is not pooo it is poor.
Sis said, We were so pooo we couldn't afford the last "R" either."

I believe the cartridge failed to fire. Each time after hearing a click but no bang, I ejected it and found a dent where the firing pin hit. Sometimes it was a little off center. The bullet box says Monarch .40 S&W 180 GR TOTAL METAL JACKET.
There is a faint green ring around the strike plate on some rounds but not others. I assumed it was paint(the box is green), but maybe it's corrosion? Do bullets age? Thanks for the help.

This happened to a buddy of mine at the range last week. He was trying to fire .40 cal ammo in his .45 cal pistol (SA XD45). He just bought the gun from his son and for some reason thought it was an XD40 instead of an XD45. The pin would strike the primer but wouldn't discharge, which would leave a dent where the firing pin hit.

Which worked for me as I got a free box of ammo to shoot up.

I have little to add, except that I have fired thousands of rounds of CCI Blazer aluminum and never had a failure.

+1 on CCI Blazer. It always goes bang.

I've had a multitude of failure to fire on Winchester White Box ammo.
