Turned 21 today, going to take my CHL class tomorrow and the next day with Larry Bartek...

Didn't want to waste any time.

:woohoo

So... how hard is the test? I'm planning on bringing notebook and pencil and taking notes on everything that I can, but I'm assuming that it's not a cakewalk...

Happy Birthday and congrats on signing up for the class.

Just pay attention in the class, ask good questions and you'll be good to go on the test.

Happy Birthday!

I just took the class on Saturday and the test is no biggie really. Same level of questions as you might expect on any other state-agency-written exam (think driver's test). Most are pretty obvious if you've paid attention, but there are a couple there that are designed to try and throw you. It's pass-fail and getting the required 70% should be a breeze.

I have yet to meet Bartek, but he is a partner in a deer lease with one of my best friends. When I went deer hunting for the first time just this last December, my friend put me in one of Bartek's stands one morning. My friend is going to be taking Bartek's class too pretty soon. He says that Bartek is a great guy and a pretty good instructor.

Happy B-Day young man! :cheers2:

My Daughter took her CHL class a couple of days before her 21st birthday. The test is easy enough if you pay attention.

With your sharp young mind....you should have no trouble.

I am very encouraged to see the number of young folks taking advantage of the opportunity to get their CHL. I personally know of 8-9 under the age of 25 that gotten theirs in just the last 4 months.

Please represent us all well. I know you will.

Most of the questions are pretty easy. Listening in class and using your common sense should give you plenty of margin over the required 70%. Just use your normal test-taking skills, read every word of every question, and don't try to be either the first one done or the last. There are a couple of trick questions, but my instructor briefed us on them (I still missed one of them -- that's why I suggested reading every word).
