If this question has been answered already, let me apologize in advance.
If my current CHL is to expire on my bithday in 2009, will I still need to renew it then or will I essentially get another 5 yrs added on?

You will still have to renew it. The only difference is that you MIGHT not need to take the class to renew it. As I understand this law, you take a class to get your CHL, then you have to take a class to renew it the first time. The second renewal is exempted from the class, but you need the class for the third renewal. The pattern of no class every other renewal continues from there.

The first two times you renew, you need the renewal course.XD_Dan wrote:Sorry...I worded the question wrong.
By "renew" my license, I meant renew it by taking the refresher in 2009.
Since my CHL is already listed with an expiration date of 2009, and this will be my first renewal, will I likely need to take the refresher this go-'round?
After that, the renewal course is needed only once every ten years. But you still renew every 5.
