......are great!! I went down to the Joohnson County range this past saturday and had a BLAST!!! Nothing better than a fun match. I found the course of fire a nice change and challenging. Excellent stages set up and a bunch of great people to shoot them with. Had a little side match afterward that was just awesome (pistol/carbine - thanks Gary!). Really made the drive worth while. The range was clean and well kept. Safety overall was excellent and strict (as it should be). Well run by people who know the sport and fun was had by all. Anyone looking for a place to shoot close to the Fort Worth area should check them out. New members are always welcome and they're very patient in explaining the rules and how to go about the match. Guest shooters for IDPA are also welcome at a slightly higher range fee (I thought range fees were exceptionally cheap) My hat's off to the Cross Timbers people for putting on a great match. Thanks!!

On behalf of Cross Timbers IDPA, thank you for the nice comments. We are very fortunate to have a great bunch of people who come to our events. Saturday was great. Great weather, got to see a bunch of old friends and meet a bunch of new friends. No problems and every one seemed to have a great time. Life is good.

thanks, George

You're welcome to come back and shoot my AR any time. You're just not allowed to out-shoot me with it.
It was definitely a fun match and the MD went all out in the creativity department. I can't wait for the next one!

For sure! I really enjoyed that one stage that had a lot of moving. The one with four shooting stops. I understand it wasn't "IDPA legal" but it was a blast. I wish we could do more of those.

Yeah, you missed a killer match!! I really liked the multiple transitions on that long stage. Hopefully, they'll do that again!!

The rifle match afterward was killer......starting with the pistol and transitioning to the rifle was a blast to say the least. I loved that brake HighVelocity had on his AR, although it made things a bit louder for the people behind. Very cool setup with close range targets up to about 35yds. and as close at 10ft. Nothing like the sound bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.....scoot, scoot, scoot......click whabam!!! whabam!!!....scoot...scoot......whabam!! whabam!!!

Man, what a blast. Should've got it on video!!! ......next time for sure!

Yes, my muzzle brake is loud, even for the shooter. A lot of folks don't like it simply because of the noise but it works very well at keeping the muzzle down during rapid fire.

I am going to try to make it this thursday work permitting, mainly just watch and see whats up. I got my IDPA membership thingy the other day and noticed something about a classifier. Do I need to do that to complete or will this be avail when I show up? etc?

I went down to Johnson County and shot with the CTIDPA bunch in July and had a blast. My first go at IDPA and I didn't come in absolute last place so I was happy about that.... :)
