Who is going to the match at Elm Fork tonight? I called the range to get some info and they didn't have much. The girl told me that she forgot that DAPS was coming out tonight. I just don't want to get there and be clueless.

Age_ranger and myself will be out there. Age_ranger normally has on a 5.11 vest with a white ball cap with the Beretta trident logo on it. with a PX4 on his hip.

I'll be the one with a buzz cut wearing a black and red shirt with Dragons on it. Ill have a Beretta 92FS on my hip.

Have you ever been to the range before?

Nope. I've never been to Elm Fork before.

When you get there you will see a the white club house up on the hill. Go around to the left and park behind it. Go up to the club house an pay your range fee. They can then point you down to where we will be shooting. Look forward to seeing you there. Since this will be your first time the match fee is waived.

Thanks for the info. I will see you there. I'll probably be the guy with the shortest flat top. I am still deciding whether or not I will shoot tonight, but I am bringing my gear. I have been very busy, but have read a portion of the rule book and I am trying to determine what to use.

I had nothing but my Beretta the first match I shot. I had to carry it around in a bag the whole day and shoot from a low ready. You have nothing to worry about. Some on and shoot you will love it.

That was a pretty good match. Not bad at all. I like when Mongo sets up the stages. He's pretty creative and manages to keep them pretty challenging. I seem to always forget something.....tonight was the mozambique before proceeding but I picked up the missed head shot and just got a procedural. Still, the Beretta ran like a swiss watch. Over 5000 rounds and not one malfunction. Has to be the most reliable handgun I've ever owned. It'll be hard to even think of shootin that XD when it gets back. Might just have to trade it straight up for something else.

Was a good match tonight. Enjoyed meeting a few new people and seeing some of the old faces. Definatly a good crowd.

Got to finally use my new holster and its was nice. Just kept getting wrapped up in the shirt I was wearing. But its a learning experience. Will be interesting to see how I did.

Every match you learn something new. Whether you're a novice or old school wheel gunner I kow I've still got tons to learn and did a little self-instruction this evening. Learned a bit about my limitations and skills. Gotta know what you're capable of and sometimes it helps to push yourself to the point that you make that mistake and learn from it. Some guys seemed to be going waaay to fast. Just keep those sights on target. They dictate the speed at which you shoot the target. Speed will come with time/experience.

Hey, I bear a strong resemblance to that guy going waaayyyy too fast. I had a good time though, and learned a great deal. It was very humbling and I think that was good thing. Now I know what to practice, slowly of course. It's like I forgot everything I thought that I knew when that timer went off.

It was great meeting you guys. Wildscar, you were right it is addictive. I'll defintiely be back.

Going fast is great.....if you can control where your shots go. There's a fine line beteen speed and accuracy. A combination of both is whats needed. I'm still learning alot of that myself.

It takes a few matches to get warmed up to the little things about the sport but youll get there. Atleast you didnt throw your mag across the course.

Studies have shown that the sonic tone emitted by ALL competition shot timers cause a minor epileptic seisure that results in a complete wipe of ALL short term memory back to the last time the tone was heard.

Not only did the lady forget there was a match, but she locked US IN when she left!!!
