I just started shooting IDPA and have been going to Shiloh the past couple of weeks. I am jumping in with both feet. It has been a great experience. Lots of good people and everyone is very safety conscience. Just out of curiosity is there anyone on this forum that is a part of the Shiloh Tactical Shooter? If so please post here and let me know. I am sure you can figure our who I am from my user name if you have been coming the last couple weeks.

Like Solaritx I shoot there occasionally depending on schedule. But I'm the old fat guy with grey hair and beard.

Funny how that works...seems I always completely botch up at least one scenario! Somehow that's half the fun, cuz it gives you something to think about and correct for the next time.
Learning from my mistakes (Tactical and otherwise) is what keeps me going.

What kind of experience is required to attend? I would like to try it out.

while not an officer or offical of this club, here is my 2 cents:
1) MUST be a safe shooter and follow range rules. If new to the range, ask.
2) need gun, holster and at least 2 mags (more better)
3) holster needs to be either an in-the-waist or a regular belt holster (no fanny pack, no small of the back, no shoulder holster, no cross-draw). this is a safety issue.
4) don't worry about experience drawing, etc. These guys are great and will work with you to either learn to draw (SAFELY) or start you at the low ready to begin with. Safety first.
5) bring 50-100 rounds of ammo (target, least expensive) Believe it's no lead (inside range) so either plated or jacketed rounds.
6) need eye and ear protection
7) and you need to bring (next to a safe mindset) is the capasity to HAVE FUN .
8) come early (believe shooting starts at 7pm so I would be there around 6:15-6:30) so that you can find out the rules, talk to the guys, etc.
Anything else guys?

That pretty much sums it up Gary. Please feel free to come. The more the merrier. If you don't have alot of experience performing holster draw you may feel alittle intimidated the first time. I know I did but everyone there is great and if it is your first time they ussually have a safety officer stick to your side just to show you the ropes and help explain things. Make sure for first timers show up by 6:15 pm for new shooter orientation/safety meeting. Hope to see you at the range.

it's not 100% scheduled yet, but whidpa is going to have a multi-gun match at impact zone on July 10th. i have never been before; but i want to go. Anyone else interested?
there should be a thread here in the competitive shooting section if it will happen or not in a few days.
