Can someone point me in the right direction of getting into IDPA in central Texas?
I emailed Texas Tactical and have not gotten a response.
Looking for what to expect and just how to get into it for a beginner.
Sorry if this has been asked before.
Thanks
Joe

the best way to get involved is to just go to a match and sign up. In my experience everyone will bend over backwards to help and teach you the game. don't worry about equipment to begin with, except for eye and ear protection, a holster that covers the trigger and 3 magazines (you can stick them in your pocket) everything else you will learn what works and what you will like after a couple of matches. I went to the IDPA website, there is also a club in Temple it may be closer to you.

Not sure exactly where you are but for central Texas there is a great club at Copperas Cove. Contact Steve Jolly at 254-702-4128.

I'm going to be going to the Texas Tactical matches held at the Austin Rifle Club next match. They have them up to a couple of times per month

Not to far from Austin there are two real good clubs.
Temple Gun Club does IDPA 1st and 3rd Sundays. Google Temple Gun Club, they have a website with info.
Copperas Cove Pitol Club does IDPA 1st Sat and Action Pistol (unholy combo of IDPA and USPSA with own club rules, but very fun) on the 2nd Sat. Google Cooperas Cove Pistol Club, they have a webpage on yahoo.
But clubs are good, many people shoot at both places. Boith friendly to new IDPA shooters.

I'd like to attend the next one (Jan 23) as a spectator as I've never been to one.

If I were you....I'd go ahead and bring my stuff. It's awfully hard to watch one without wanting to shoot.

Will they let me shoot my Crimson Carry with the laser turned off?
