Thunder Gun Range in Conroe will be hosting a Pistol II class by Gordon Carrell (GLC Shooting Academy) this weekend. This two day class will focus on developing your shooting skills for both IDPA and self defense.
Students will learn trigger control, sight alignment, grip, stance, target acquisition/transition, draw stroke, reloads, strong and weak hand shooting, stage analysis, stage movement, shooting on the move, when to break the shot, how to shoot movers and swingers.
In addition, students will be taught a structured method of planning out individual practice sessions and how to chart their progress and improvement.
Class size is limited and currently have 4 slots open.

I so WANT to do this (and have one of your $150 certs from the regional match) but do NOT have the rest of the money or anywhere near enough ammo. Recent economic issues have limited my shooting way too much and will continue to for another couple months.
Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

This will be a great class folks. Gordon is a great instructor -- I taught him everything he knows. He's almost as good as me, but not quite. Everyone that knows both of us are rolling on the ground about now.
Now that my flight of fancy is over, Gordon is one of those rare individuals who is not only an accomplished shooter, he has the ability to teach those skills to others. There are a lot of very good shooters, but those that are equally talented at teaching are few and far between. And yes I will admit that even in my younger days I couldn't begin to compete with Gordon.
