Competitive shooting participation
I used to shoot IDPA on a semi-regular basis (about once a month, give or take). But I stopped completely when ammo became impossible to find at any reasonable price. I'm just curious. Are people still participating in IDPA / USPSA / 3 Gun, etc? Or has the participation dropped off?
Also, are clubs shortening their unofficial courses of fire to reduce the number of required rounds?

Re: Competitive shooting participation
Seems like a lot less people at TDSA on 3-gun day.

Re: Competitive shooting participation
I have seen a cutback here not me as we prepared for all this early last year when we saw it all coming and we still shoot weekly, we have cut round count maybe 25% and added 22 rf to be used our competitors have dropped some but not much I was just thinking of a range trip Saturday here if not muddy, also trading some components I do not use anymore has helped me very much. I have always had plenty of ammo on hand and reload all I can, our shooting group had an early last year discussion of what was coming and took action then and glad we all did so.

Re: Competitive shooting participation
We still have matches at the club that I am a member of.
The round count has been reduced to about half, and you can use rimfire if you desire.
So we still have about 40 people each match, depending on the match ( carbine, pistol, steel plate,etc...).

I think allowing the use of rimfire is a great idea. I could use my Glock 44 (I think that's the right model) for that. I might check and see if my local club allows that. I'm assuming their not using reactive steel targets since I question whether a .22lr round would be able to knock one down.

Re: Competitive shooting participation
I've shot two USPSA matches this year. I'll be shooting in 7 matches at KR Training in May through August.

Re: Competitive shooting participation
All from shotgun matches, to pistol and rifle. Our club has not seen a decline in members, guest or ammo. I learned from the older members. Do no let anything stop you from enjoying your hobby and place every round count on target.

Re: Competitive shooting participation
We are still shooting matches but like the previous posters have said the stages have been modified to reduce round count and shooting more 22LR.

Same number of attendees at our steel challenge matches, but higher percentage of .22 rimfire entries than before.
