Prayers Requested for Wife's Grand Nephew

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

We prayed extra for Seth tonight. I also hope he is out of surgery and resting comfortably.

I don't know how I've missed this thread. I'm so sorry and Seth is in our prayers also.

Same here, must have missed it. Praying for Seth and all of the family. Can you provide any update on his progress?

Tried to get an update this morning but the reception was bad. His dad is going to call me later. He is out of surgery and "OK" but no details on the procedure or prognosis. Seth was able to move some fingers in the cast that they were to remove and change out yesterday, but when it was removed the decision was made to send him to surgery. Still don't have details on what or why, but as soon as I get them I will report. Thanks one and all.

Seth had tissue grafts that had died so they had to clean that up then do the re-grafts in the surgery last night. There were some areas that weren't closed anyway so whole wound is completely covered. They had done some additional attachments about a week and a half ago that I was unaware of. He was able to move the tips of his fingers some, but the doctors are saying he'll only have about 50% usage. Hopefully he'll be back home by Saturday. Please continue to pray for healing and to prove the doctors wrong about the prognosis.

Just thought I'd give a brief update. Thank you all for your prayers. God continues to bless. For each and every doctor visit Seth has had to endure sedation and OR procedures. On his last visit they were able to assess and treat his hand without going into the OR and it is doing well. The grafts are doing well and they say his bones and plates were not affected and his hand will grow normally. The doctors are also saying he will most likely have enough grip to pick up stuff, but only time will tell. He's unable to attend school due to the fear of injury to his hand, but has a visiting teacher. That is a blessing in itself when I think about what the way it was when I was in school. You just fell behind. Please continue your prayers for him as this will be a very long road.

Thank you one and all for your prayers. I realize this post has been inactive for a long period, but I need to again make a prayer request for Seth. He has endured countless surgical procedures and his hand, while it will never be fully functional, has improved and has always healed with no complications. He was hospitalized yesterday morning with a high fever, the result of a severe systemic infection and they're treating him with IV anti-biotics. His hand is inflamed extending up to his arm pit. Not a lot of improvement as of yet. We ask for your prayers for recovery from this assault on this brave little boy and for continued improvement as he undergoes procedures.
