Hospital

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Joe,

Remember, anxiety is simply worry that didn't take time to pray.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Phil 4:6

Pray until you get the peace in your own heart!
Meanwhile, we will pray with you...!

Plano Presby is tops for cardiac care and their surgeons.

As for the quad, my Father-In-Law had one done about 3 years ago and came out feeling better than he had felt in years! Don't want to say they are routine, but they are very common. Follow the Doc's orders, eat right and excercise and you will be back on top in no time!

Will keep the prayers going for a fast recovery and for strength for your family, especially Blake.

Again, thank you all. This hospital does not have church services for some reason.

Prayers sent my friend. I posted something to some friend yesterday that might comfort you in the absence of a church service. There is a great deal said with few words in the message below. Enjoy it.

The Jesus Creed, by Brian McLaren:

We have confidence in Jesus
Who healed the sick, the blind, and the paralyzed.
And even raised the dead.

He cast out evil powers and
Confronted corrupt leaders.
He cleansed the temple.
He favored the poor.
He turned water into wine,
Walked on water, calmed storms.

He died for the sins of the world,
Rose from the dead, and ascended to the Father,
Sent the Holy Spirit.

We have confidence in Jesus
Who taught in word and example,
Sign and wonder.
He preached parables of the kingdom of God
On hillsides, from boats, in the temple, in homes,
At banquets and parties, along the road, on beaches, in towns,
By day and by night.

He taught the way of love for God and neighbor,
For stranger and enemy, for outcast and alien.

We have confidence in Jesus,
Who called disciples, led them,
Gave them new names and new purpose
And sent them out to preach good news.
He washed their feet as a servant.
He walked with them, ate with them,
Called them friends,
Rebuked them, encouraged them,
Promised to leave and then return,
And promised to be with them always.

He taught them to pray.
He rose early to pray, stole away to desolate places,
Fasted and faced agonizing temptations,
Wept in a garden,
And prayed, “Not my will but your will be done.
He rejoiced, he sang, he feasted, he wept.

We have confidence in Jesus,
So we follow him, learn his ways,
Seek to obey his teaching and live by his example.
We walk with him, walk in him, abide in him,
As a branch in a vine.

We have not seen him, but we love him.
His words are to us words of life eternal,
And to know him is to know the true and living God.
We do not see him now, but we have confidence in Jesus.

Amen

You and your family are on my nightly prayer list. I have experience praying for heart surgeries, and all have come to safe and favorable healing.

Coronary bypasses are fondly known as "cabbages" to your medical professionals. They're commonplace now, and routinely add decades onto people's lives. The first two weeks will be the hardest, and after a month you're likely to realize that, before the surgery, you were feeling tired all the time--but didn't know it--because your heart didn't have enough arterial blood flow.

BrassMonkey,

Just ran across this. Best wishes and prayers for you and your family. My dad had a triple bypass back in the "old days" (1980, I think), he got so active after that, skiing and parachuting and whatnot, that people said "Look what it did for that old guy! I'm gonna get one of those too!"

I went to visit Joe today. His surgey went well. He says he misses everyone and still request prayers for him and his son Blake. He will probably be in the hospital the rest of the week. He was still in ICU.

Talked with Joe today. He is out of ICU. He was expected to go home Friday, but now it is Sunday. He is doing better, but in a lot of pain. This is the time they start cutting out the morphine and you start getting up. A very painful time. He said to tell everyone "THANK YOU" for the prayers. Please remember his Son Blake who is 4 in your prayers.
