Anxiously waiting for my application to change to print pending, but hoping that past transgressions haven’t made it a more difficult process for DPS.

Basically, Jan 2013 got convicted of Obstruction of Texas Roadway (Class B Mosdemeanor) did 6 months probation, and that was the end of it.

I had been counting the days until I submit my application. Took the class Feb 2, had everything submitted including all necessary court documents by Feb 5, and the online status finally showed on Feb 7. At the moment, everything is green except for Fingerprints, Background Check, and the License to Carry part.

Anyone else have any problems with past transgressions slowing down the processing time on their LTC?

If it's less than 60 days there's no reason to get anxious yet.

Mine took more than 60 days with a squeaky clean record, but that's when the license cost $100 more.

I’m just somewhat worried because I read about people that have applied after me and received theirs really soon. But I understand, there’s no real set criteria for the length of time it takes

As long as you understand I was just kidding you a bit. Most, if not all, of us were that way.

Once I had the license, actually carrying in public was rather anti-climactic. It just felt so natural, except for the fact I ignored the "get a real gunbelt" advice. I felt like I needed to keep pulling my pants up.

Absolutely... several. A good gunbelt is at least as important as a good holster. It makes all the difference in the world.

Absolutely... several. A good gunbelt is at least as important as a good holster. It makes all the difference in the world.

any brands you recommend? i was looking at bigfoot brand they have a steel core which sounds nice.

I understand that part about being anti climactic lol. Kinda like when you turn 21...the allure of it fades almost instantly

The list seems endless.

You can get very good dress belts from The Beltman or Crossbreed among others.

For more everyday belts, 511 Tactical has a good assortment. For everyday wear in jeans, cargo shorts, and such, I like the MidwayUSA Instructor belt. It's a less expensive option that won't break the bank.

Any delay will not be because of a gun belt or lack thereof. Your Jan 2013 conviction of a class B misdemeanor may delay your eligibility. I do not think the 5 year wait starts until time served or probation is over. I might be wrong. The state will notify of any denial and reason for the denial and usually they will give you a date that you are eligible to apply again.

Any delay will not be because of a gun belt or lack thereof. Your Jan 2013 conviction of a class B misdemeanor may delay your eligibility. I do not think the 5 year wait starts until time served or probation is over. I might be wrong. The state will notify of any denial and reason for the denial and usually they will give you a date that you are eligible to apply again.

From what I read in the dps website it says “you are ineligible for a license for five years after a conviction for a Class A or Class B misdemeanor.“ i read this part many times and took it to mean that it was 5 years after the official conviction
