I'm 72 days in. When I went to the mailbox this afternoon, I saw an envelope on top from DPS. Heart started pounding a little faster as I thought the wait was over. Opened the envelope and ......... It was my new Drivers License. Oh well, the wait continues.

Have you contacted your state representatives? I know some of the folks who have been waiting a long time got some action that way.

I don't think you want to do that. It says it is a nonrefundable fee meaning that even if you are refused they keep the money. Doing the chargeback on your card can be considered the same as writing a check that bounces to the government. They take a dim view of that.

I know the waiting sucks. But just consider this. I did my class in August, submitted everything like the first week of September, and I didn't get mine till the end of Oct last year. That was before the OC craze and attention got people flock-ing to get their LTC, by all accounts the state is inundated with requests for new LTCs. It took 2 months when things were going smoothly and from what I understand one of the shortest waiting periods in the history of the LTC program. It was said to me, so I will pass on the wisdom. Give it time, the wait won't feel nearly so long once you have plastic in hand. (BTW it didn't help me feel any better when I was told that either :biggrinjester: )

Before you go to extremes....you can best reach them if you call around 6:30-6:45. You will still have to wait 30 minutes, but you should be able to get a REP. on the phone after the wait. Sometimes you will get someone rude who will just give you the runaround, and sometimes you will get the "nice old lady."
Hope you can get it all solved.
