CHL class December 12th
Submitted my application December 13th....
Fingerprinted and submitted supporting documents on December 22nd
"Confirmed" Auto Email response from the state on December 28th.
I called the 800 number yesterday 2/3/16 after waiting the 30 days, as not to seem too anxious and spoke with a nice lady who confirmed that my application has been received, the fingerprint and background check were complete. She then asked me if I turned in my CHL-100. I told her of course, as I was meticulous in having my ducks in a row, full knowing the issues and setbacks/delays that would incur if my paperwork was wrong in any way. She then put me on hold, and found it. Whew! She said she would move it "to processing" So, I am hoping that it is in the final chute for plastic approval. I am writing this story to just make everyone aware that there is the possibility of a delay, if they "can't find a part of the application.
I am also not suggesting everyone to call and ask to make sure that they received their CHL-100, but thank God I did. I was going to be patient and not be "that guy" that called, but I am glad I did. Also, I submitted a questionnaire regarding my application status via the website on monday and still have not heard back. So, i called.
Mine was uploaded through their website in mid December, with the confirmation on Dec 28th. Here's hoping to under 45 days!

Hopefully your process is pain free from here on out. Could you please be so kind as to post the 800 number you called?

Sorry, I didn't call an 800 number. I called the "512" customer service line to speak with the application reps regarding my status. I meant 800 number as a quick reference to speaking with their customer service reps. I figure that since they found it and all is in order, I'm just going to kick my feet up and wait until it hits the mailbox in the next couple of weeks.
I just wrote this post to let people know that my documents were "missing" on their end and the only way to become aware in the first place, was to physically call and confirm that I had submitted in order to kick my app out of the "missing supporting documents pile" and into the hot chute.
I'm not ragging on the analysts whatsoever, and I hate to have to tell people to call to confirm, but it worked for me. Who knows how long I would have been pending had I not called and asked.
All in all, having moved here from New York a few years ago, I am excited to soon be able to exercise my right to carry and protect my family in the Greatest State in the Union!

I called this evening and spoke with Daryl who informed me that I am calling way too soon. Say whaaaaaaat?
I called on 2/3,(after receiving confirmation on 12/28) and was told that everything was processed and ready but that they were waiting on my CHL100. I had sent it in already and asked her to look for it. She found it after a moment and told me that it was going to be moved to the processors.
Well, Daryl says that they are working on mid-December right now. I have read on here like the rest of you about people who have their plastic and were in the same time frame as me.
I understand it was 2 weeks ago, and am hoping that his answer was just the canned response that he is giving everyone that calls, like I have read on here.
Too soon? I received the "confirmation" on the 28th of December... I am about 52 days in, but only about 45 working days in....I guess that is way too soon to call. I pray for ya'll who sent their info into the DPS later that Jan 1st.
My buddy just took the class , now awaiting his fingerprinting appointment and is not excited about these new timelines. And I thought the DMV was bad. Rant Over!

You are a little too early. Would you rather they lie to you when you call & promise you'll get your license in 3 days. (when they know you won't)? I'd rather hear the truth up front.

How do you explain the folks who have dates after this and have their card already? Seems like typical govt efficiency to me....

I submitted all my documents via the wen site. I too made sure all my ducks were in a row as to not cause any unnecessary delays by checking, double & triple checking all the needed docs were attached. I got the confirmation email from them for the app & then again after i submitted my fingerprints. Then 4 days before Christmas I received a letter saying they didn't get my chl~100. I grabbed the hard copy, threw it in an envelope, slapped a stamp on it and after scribbling the address on the front, I dashed outside to catch my post lady passing by on the other side of the street. Gave it to her and then i waited and waited. Just got my plastic yesterday...

Not a matter of efficent. It is a matter of competent. I just called was told mine was way past due being entered since it had been 8 weeks. He had no idea why it was not even entered. He said he would pass it to a supervisor. I tried to have faith in the beginning but now I think the department is full of incompetence or managed by incompetence. Might I mention, only caught because I called!
