Got a letter and 1 photo back from DPS today..They say the pic must be 2" x 2" and the image of the applicant must be 1 and 1 3/8". My head is too big! haha! Anyway, question is, do I have to go back to the instructor or can I take the pics myself? What about the instructor signature? Do I need it signed again?

IF your instructor took the pics, they should be able to correct the problem.

The instructor does not sign the pictures. The person who FINGERPRINTED you signs the pictures. That may, in fact, be your instructor, but not necessarily.

If your instructor took your photos, then he needs to fix the problem, on his dime. If I screw up and DPS rejects any part of your package because of something I caused, then I feel it is my personal responsibility to fix it.

Now, if you got your pictures taken at Walmart, Walgreens, Kinko's, etc, then THEY need to fix it. And the answer to the signature problem is "no", your replacement photos do not need to be signed by the fingerprinter, but make sure that YOU sign them.

If you didn't sign them, I bet they will.
