DPS - Diligent, Proficient Service

"rlol" Just kidding guys. "rlol"

So I am new to the fourm; I've been lurking for sometime, probably since around the time my application hit the mail. Today I decided to join up and say hello.
Anyway, I'm not sure if this is the preferred order of operations but here's how I managed my application process.

Thurs. 26 June 2014 - Online Application Submitted
Fri. 27 June 2014 - Fingerprints Submitted
Sat. 28 June 2014 -Class Completed @ 1:30 P.M.
Sat. 28 June 2014 - Checklist, CHL-100, and FAST fingerprint documentation ( I wasn't sure if the FAST thing was necessary) dropped in the snail mail at 2:00 P.M.

So it's been 22 days since my brown envelope has embarked upon its journey to the kind people in Austin, and still no status change online, no correspondence from DPS.

Is this consistent with the typical experiences you guys have had?

Thanks,
GTH

The website is undergoing an upgrade and the "status" portion won't be functioning again until sometime near the end of the month, so our contacts at DPS tell us. Patience! You should see a change early next month. Depending on the background check...it will likely take 12 weeks. You'll read this ...then if arrives in 8 you'll be pleasantly surprised! ;-)

I suppose there's no rush. I've been researching IDPA and plan to watch a match next week before I attempt my first classifier. That should keep me distracted in the meantime.

:thumbs2: I understand being impatient if you just turned 21 but for everyone else what's the big rush now?

I'm at 71 days tomorrow and it looks like I may just get mine this week...I got the call at the end of the day Thursday the 17th that my app had been approved and that I would have it by 10 days...I was updated with the ever so popular options on the 18th so I'm crossing my fingers for this week

I'm exactly one week behind you; keep us informed! ;-)

(And I did the same thing on including the FAST fingerprint confirmation - didn't say it was needed but I figured, "what the heck")

You wouldn't like them when they're angry.
When in doubt
Vote them out!
