my chl has the suffix Sr. on it. but my DL does not. do you think i should have a problem because of that?

Nope, I wouldn't expect any problem.

First, I've only needed to even show my CHL once in the last 10 years, so having someone look at it is a low probability event to start with.

Second, even if an LEO is looking at it, the photos should make it quite obvious you are the same person on both licenses.

Third, in the extreme or ridiculous case, it is pretty obvious to prove in court that both licenses pertain to the same person.
