Please forgive me for asking im sure it has been answered somewhere before but i was curious if anyone had any idea of how long it takes after the application has been received and things are under review how long does the background check and other things usually take ?

Really depends on your background. DPS backlog is a factor as well. A safe estimate is about 3 weeks.

Same here, I was already 63 days in since DPS had my paperwork also so I think that is why mine went faster.

My status changed to "Background check in progress" on 20 April and today (15 May) it changed to "Background check completed" and "CHL: Manufacturing pending." As someone said in an earlier post, processing times seems to be all over the map.

Legally, within 60 days, the DPS must issue the card or notify you why they can't issue and when they think they can make a determination on your application. The DPS rules state that the statutory 60 day period begins when they confirm a completed application, which is only after they have opened the package that has laid around for an average of 30-45 days from the time it was delivered. There also seems to be no first in, first out process in place.

My wife has her card already and the whole process took 5 weeks. I overnighted my package 2 days after she sent hers in and I am still waiting to see an acknowledgement that they even have the package!

Shame on DPS for such an inefficient process.

Iv moved once 2 years ago I had lived at previous house for 14 years
