Hi all. Long time reader, first time poster. Just wanted to introduce myself and join the waiting room. I mailed by packet on August 6th, as I have noticed some others have, but my online status is still pending. I called the DPS just to see what they'd say. They said it takes at least 3 weeks to make it to them from the mail room. Then they'll update the site. I'll be a little happier when it changes to anything. I am patient, just overly excited! Like Christmas is coming!
Glad to be a part of this crew now, there are a lot of interesting reads on here. I've laughed, I've cried, and I look forward to a long membership. Thanks!

I think the give u a generic response so you don't keep calling them.. I was told it take about another 47 days last week

I sent in my packet the same day that you did. I am also waiting for a status update. I'm sure that the DPS will update the website this week...I am just hoping for today.

If they follow any kind of pattern, today would match up to when Texas_Tee's was updated. 16 days from mail date. Here's to hoping!

I am fairly new to both he forum and my CHL. I received mine in the first part of June.
I hope everything goes smoothly for you and the rest of you in the waiting room! ;)

I mailed my packet to DPS on Monday, August 6 . . . just like you. The website has said "waiting on required materials" until this morning when it changed to "background check - under review" along with all the green checkmarks.

Thanks for the confidence booster... I was really needing that. 2 out of 4 August 6th people have an updated status. That's good to hear.

Kind of the same thing with me. mailed on 8/7, showed the green checks and updated today.

Wow 3 weeks to make it from the mail room. That's our fine tax dollars at work, I tell you.

Well, I have missed the time frame that everyone seems to be on. I really don't want to have to remake the packet and remail and wait.

Depends... how did you mail it (method/priority)? I mailed mine via Priority w/ delivery confirmation (just so I know it got where I sent it). Mailed mine off the day AFTER you mailed yours. As long as yours got to the PO box by the 9th, then you should see an update soon.
