Hi, new to the forum and I'm at about 60 days since I've mailed out my packet. Just curious, I've noticed that some folks have dates for specific statuses. The online status check for DPS doesn't give me any dates aside from the receipt for the online app. Is there another source of information for exact dates?

The web site doesn't show dates, but most of us check it daily (or multiple times daily) so we know the dates that it changes.

With being so close to your 60 day mark, I would suggest calling them or emailing them (because I'm impatient). It is considered to be past due at 60 days. (total days, not just business days), Welcome to the forum

When I finally called them the guy told me that "someone forgot to hit send" and that he would email the right dept and get it pushed through. My status changed the next morning. After I finally hit "manufacturing" it took another 6 days before it changed to mailed. I think most people's change the next day. Who knows...just glad it says mailed. It seems like it is taking about as long this time as it did back in 1997 when I got it the first time. I shouldn't have ever let it go!

Once the DPS received my packet, it was 78 days until I got mine. Strange though, The next day after I had sent them an email due to my background being "under review" for 62 days, my status changed to manufacturing.
So do we get to send a bill to collect late fees to the state once they've not met their 60 day deadline as they do to citizens on things such as TAXES?

Emailed them as suggested almost a week ago. Received reply on the next day that my background is still under review and that they would assign a technician to my application. At day 65 and status is still currently Background Check Under Review.

Maybe its time for a phone call. I called yesterday and was told that mine would be printed after my 60 full days which is Monday. I am hoping to see a change on Tuesday-Wednesday (Monday Holiday). Hope you see a change soon as well.

Thanks, i hope so too. I am going to make that phone call tomorrow so that I can state that I've waited at least a week since receiving the email response.

Well, finally put in a call to the DPS. I informed the first person I talked to that it has now been almost 2 months of the same Background Check status, that I had emailed them over a week ago and that it's been over 70 days since this process started. She couldnt give me any encouraging information and transferred me to another "specialist". Not available at the time I was transferred so I left a, "as polite as I possibly could" message.

Maybe try emailing them again. I received a response back within 30 min yesterday telling me mine was in printing. Hope you hear something encouraging soon

Finally talked to someone that knew specifically about my case. The day after our conversation my status changed to "Manufacturing".
