Hi everyone,
New to the site. DPS received mine on 1-5-12 and it went to background under review shortly thereafter. It's a bummer to see some of you mailed yours a month after mine and already have the plastic. 1 1/2 more weeks and it will be over 60 and I'll call i guess.
Waiting Patiently,
Rob

I think we are both in the slow pile.
All we can do is cross our fingers and hope our guy gets off vacation pretty soon.

Well, luckily for the both of you, there is no segregation based on intelligence.

Have any background problems, forms filled out correctly?
No way will I wait 60 days to contact if nothing has changed on texas.gov. Might not change anything but I'd feel better.

No background problems. I actually had a CHL about 10 years ago, but never renewed it. Only two speeding tickets since then. Perhaps i'll call next week.

It should go quickly now. I am also a new and old chl holder. I was still in the system, but had to go through the whole thing again, as well, due to the fact mine expired a number of years ago too. I won't tell you how fast mine went through this time, but it's safe to say that my theory on 'redo's go through quickly' is completely shot!
And welcome to The Forum!

Think I was in the same pile as you; sent everything in on 1/3 and sat in "Background Check" until status finally changed YESTERDAY!! Keep your head up, maybe your application was right under mine in the slow pile

Must be an anti-Plano bias, as that is where I dwell as well.

Yeah, maybe they read one of those reports saying that Plano is the safest city in the country and decided we don't need them so much here......

Plano might well be the safest city in the country because people have their CHLs.
