Newbie first post and currently waiting on Plastic

Hello Everyone,

I just recently found these forums because I've suddenly realized that I am probably the most impatient person in the world ever since I mailed off my packet for my CHL. Luckily, they seem to have it in gear and everything has gone pretty fast. :waiting:

7/23 - CHL Course Completed
7/27 - Fingerprinting Done
7/28 - Mailed off Packet
8/3 - Package Received
8/5 - Background Check Pending
8/8 - Manufacturing Pending
8/9 - Manufacturing

At this rate, I'm crossing my fingers hoping that I'll have Plastic in the next week or so. I don't know how much longer I can wait!

Pull up a chair, use the search function to look for info on questions you have and join right in on the discussions that are active here on the forum.

We have a lot of very knowledgeable individuals here and you can really gain a lot of insight on carrying while waiting to get your official carry ticket. :thumbs2:

thanks everyone. I've started reading a little bit in the forums and there is definitely some pretty interesting info here. I think I'm gonna get hooked on this site quick! ;-)

I never thought of the waiting period as a good thing, but if it gets more people as forum members reading up on various things here so they are even more prepared and knowledgeable ... :mrgreen:

Is that why some people know so much? They got their CHL when it took more than two months. :biggrinjester:

It won't be long. I believe you'll have the plastic next week. Some people even received the plastic before the status was updated.

Update

8/15 - PLASTIC!!!

My wife has just informed me that I have a State of Texas DPS envelope awaiting me when I get home from work. Heck, I'm even considering calling it a day right now just so I can go home to open it.
