One should never ask to learn patience, as the good Lord will teach you. Turn all my stuff in March 1. Guess what I'm still waiting. Started with the first reviewer who decided that my DD214 showing honorable discharge, didn't say it the way he wanted. It said honorable discharge. Not sure what he was looking for. After many phone calls and many faxes later I have finally gotten that straightened out. Since I had started out trying to go as a veteran they wouldn't let me pay until it was all figured out. Guess I shouldn't have claimed to be a vet. Didn't know being a vet was something I should be ashamed of. Called today to see if there was any update. The last update on the web was 3 weeks ago and said pending final review. Well wouldn't you know now it is something else. It appears that during the background something has come up. Go figure. I guess the PI I got when I was a teenager is still there. I told them about it, guess that's not good enough.
Patience stinks.

Call your State Representative and ask them to call DPS! It works!

My fingerprints still say pending, for almost a month, should I call my rep or wait a little longer? When I call DPS they say everything is fine, it's just processing.

Dream on Texas Lady about Rugers and Baby's
Hold out for that little card that gives you your rights....

I'm going to wait 60-90 days before calling my representative. That way I give them the benefit of the doubt.

Hang in there, everyone--it'll be in your hands before you know it! Something you may want to consider would be to go ahead and set aside some money for holsters, because you may end up going through quite a few before you find something you really like. I have a CCW rotation of several different pistols, and they all carry differently with different clothes.
Another consideration would be for night sights. I can't tell you enough how much I've come to like them since being licensed to carry.
Be patient, and know that it's OK to check the website 50 times a day. I found that the updates really take place early in the morning.

Holster shopping is done...being a girl I need several options. I have a Crossbreed MiniTuck & MicroClip, a smart carry, an ugly kydex OWB that the geek at Gander sold me that I can't wear because it's just too big even with just the LCP, a pocket holster, and both the thigh and ankle holsters from Chick Holsters. I am reviewing each of these on my blog for ladies, since we have so many clothing options, so they know what their holster options are. Some of them aren't here yet, but so far I am having plenty of time to try them all out before my plastic arrives. Only thing I don't have yet that I would like to try is a shoulder holster, but I have an RSO class to take and Babes with Bullets camp in November so holster shopping has been slowed down considerably.
