I mailed in my application materials on June 8.

Initially, I took it as a bad sign that it took more than a week (June 16) for DPS's website to note that they'd even received the application. Figured I'd certainly be in for a good long wait while they processed it.

But a check this morning, June 23, shows "Background Check: Completed, Concealed Handgun License: Manufacturing Pending."

Not bad, it looks like it's taking around a month these days.

mailed mine in 6/7 certified mail they recived on 6/10 by by 6/21 manufacuring pending i just checked to day it now say Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing so itis going really well for me i guess i was a good child back in the day lol

Mine just went to manufacturing pending as well. 2 total weeks after the first status update.

I was "Manufacturing Pending" for one day. "Manufacturing" for 5, and, as of this morning, the website says "Mailed."

Congrats on getting your CHL - the process has been moving along nicely. Last I spoke with someone there they said that they are getting the paperwork sorted within 48 hours of receiving.

wow you guys are lucky, they received mine on 6-2 but still getting under review. Each time i called they give me 60 day processing on my app. I have been arrested before so maybe that's why.

getting closer checked late last night and i am now waiting on the good old postman to deliver it here's hoping for Thursday....

ok well my background check finally cleared but now i'm waiting on the Medical Advisory Board. Had an overnight stay at the state hospital 8 yrs ago.

Background under review since 6/1. Multiple calls and all they say is something must have turned up on bg check and technician is making sure it's not a "disqualifying event.". I have asked them each time (3) to be exact if there is anything I can provide to assist them... And reply is not at this time. Wonder if the real criminals out there worry about not having a CHL license?

My BG just completed after nearly 60 days. I don't have so much as a traffic ticket. I suspect it depends on the person behind the desk your file landed on.

License arrived in today's mail - 22 days from when I dropped the application in the mailbox.

That is so bizarre...about 1/3 of the time it took when I got mine. That means you have to do three Wally Walks to make up for it.

Got a shrink to sign off and mailed it back in Tuesday, now another wait begins.
