Because whenever I come here I feel the need to go check my status even though there is no possible way it can be close to ready yet. ;)

Just because it wasn't issued as of 3 minutes ago doesn't mean that the status couldn't have changed since then........

Aw, c'mon Excaliber - that is just throwing gasoline on the fire.

I have to admit that I was guilty of checking my status way too often. I figured that I was squeaky clean enough that my turnaround would happen in 31 days....NOT! Those extra 20 days (to get me to the actual 51 day result) seemed to go on forever. I promise you that signing on twice a day to see my background check still pending didn't make it go faster. If I hadn't been on the site and seen other people (LOTS of other people) go to mailed or received status, I wouldn't have been as disappointed. In this matter, ignorance is truly bliss.

Yep, 90-something days here. Just try to think of other things.

If it's been more than 20 days since you mailed your application, then it lost. You're going to have to start all over.

There is no way that I put smiles in my really serious posts. If you see a smile from me, you can probably expect me to be laughing at the screen.

It's funny I've been back in Texas for 14 years and never got around to getting my CHL but now that I sent off my app I bet I check that status site at least 4 to 5 times a day. I wish they almost didn't have it and it would just show up one day. :)
