well they cashed my check and it cleard my bank on saterday the 2nd. so now its hurry up and wiat . looks like processing times are getting faster.

Just dropped mine in the mail after completing my CHL class this past Saturday. Did the application online. We'll see how it goes.

Waiting on a status update...ordered (last week) and waiting for my Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe...waiting on the gun dealer to get back from vacation so I can order my Taurus PT740 Slim with the stainless steel slide and barrel...and then I can wait for that too

Sent everything off the end of last week, they are still waiting to receive the materials.

Took the course 10/2, mailed app 10/4....

the wife and me took the course at the Bullet Trapp and completed on 10/8/10 and mailing both apps in on 10/9/10. They cashed both our checks on 8/15/10 but have not gotten our receipts back as yet for delivery from the post office. Now to hurry up and Wait

Anyone seen their status change yet? I said I was going to be patient but it's proving to be difficult. :)

I'm right there with everyone else. It is proving very difficult...my status hasn't changed yet and they received my paperwork on Oct 4th. C'mon....I've been in the military for the past 20+ years...I'm not a felon...I shot a 249 out of 250...the US government has my DNA on file...Yup, still ANXIOUSLY waiting

I did my paper work my snail mail. stilldont show to be in the system. I did get my signed recept request back. so tempted to call.

I called last Friday and they said my prints cleared with no issues (didn't expect any issues).

The guy did say that they've been pretty well flooded with applicants lately ( ) and that it takes some time for them to go through the mail and get everyone's paperwork into the system.

Status Change as Of Oct. 13th.
By the looks of some signitures out there it seems it takes a couple weeks for the figerprints to come back, then another week or two for the background check. I hope they can keep up that pace (or speed it up)

You would think with the technology available to DPS they would be able to complete a background check with a couple of key strokes on the computer, but with all the bureaucracy involved between agencies it probably all has to be done by snail mail.
