Sounds like you are off to a fast start to me. I'm just now waiting for manufacturing, and DPS started working on my application June 16th. There isn't really a way to tell how long the process will take. My BG check took over a month by itself. Best thing I can say is that from what I've been reading, the August applications seem to be getting quick approval. I'm just glad that I didn't have to wait like some of the others before me. I've heard stories of well over 5-6 months of waiting. The best thing to do is settle yourself in for a long ride, and if it turns out to be faster than you expected it's a bonus. :tiphat:

The August apps do seem to be moving along nicely. My theory is that lots of folks are/were vacationing in July/August instead of attending a CHL class, thus reducing the flow of applications to Austin.

I mailed my app 7/19, fingerprints were accepted 8/6, BG check completed 8/20, and it didnt show mailed until 8/26.

From reading various signatures, and following a couple of the waiting room threads, there really is no rhyme or reason to the length of time it takes. Some people had theirs go to "manufacturing pending" in about 3 weeks, some people took months. I have a squeaky clean background, with nothing more than a couple of traffic tickets years ago, and it took a month for my BG check alone, which I find odd since it is instant at the gun show, over night at the Port of Panama City, and about a week through TWIC.

I agree with bigred. My BGC took a month and mine, too, was squeaky clean. It took them 10 days from manufacturing pending to PIH for me. I watched others go through each step in less time than mine.

Don't try to apply logic or reason to anything you see happening...there isn't any. Just sit back, relax and wait. Unless yours is extremely delayed for some reason, you should have it in about 35 days total. That seems to be about the average. I agree that there were some kind of a big bubble of license requests in May June - just my luck!

Good advice! Logic, to me would be to work first come first served!
