Couple Questions

I'm not too a big fan of waiting, and much less not knowing what DPS is actually doing with my packet. Yet every time I call them I talk to the same lady and she gives me the same standardized answer that they received my packet on this date and it went to processing on this date and the whole process can take 2-3 months so be patient. So my question is, is that really the extent of information that they're allowed to disclose and should I be asking to talk to the person in charge of my application to find out more? Also by my understanding they have sixty days to tell me yes, no, or they need more time and explain why, but when does that sixty days start from when they receive my app or from when it starts processing? I guess I'm just afraid of falling into the cracks after seeing people who sent their applications off a month after me, and already have plastic in hand.

I wouldn't worry about it to much. You've been in processing for 38 days. It usually takes longer for someone if they've had more than one mailing address, worked out of county of residence, worked more than 1 job, or run ins with the law in the past 5 years.

Once your application shows "In Processing" the file is handed over to a tech. You can always call and ask to speak to the tech handling your application. She may be able to give you more detail than the person that answers the phone. That's what I did.
YMMV

Won't be too long. I am impatient too and called, emailed and called again. Not sure it helped but I got mine in close to 60 days.
