Application sent back..........again

My app was sent back originally for grainy photos. When I talked to the folks in Austin, they said to send just sign one of the pics, and send it back in, as they had the photo with both signatures. They specifically said to sign it, and not worry about the fingerprinter's signature. I was in a hurry to send them back, and forgot to sign them. My bad of course. Upon receiving them back, I signed them and returned them. I just got a letter Friday stating that I need the photos signed by me and the fingerprinter.
Needless to say, I had several curse words to say between my mailbox and the front door. I'm livid. They didn't send back the fingerprint card, so I don't even know the name of the officer who took my prints. Much less, if he will sign my pics without a fingerprint card. I wonder what they'll send it back for next time.
I've got to call Austin, at least to find out the guys name who fingerprinted me. But I'm going to wait till tomorrow at least, so I can cool down and not make a fool out of myself in the process.

I would think that your instructor would have the fingerprint guy's name, if it was done in class.
Sorry to hear of your troubles. Hang in there buddy!

If this is DPS's position, it's new. They have always accepted replacement photos with only the applicant's signature, since they can compare the new photos with the "bad" ones to be sure it's the same person.

Called Austin. They said I'm supposed to have the signature of both, even on the replacement pictures (which is not what the first lady told me). When I asked her for the officer's name who fingerprinted me, she said it doesn't have to be that officer, just an officer's signature and badge number. Anyone else had to do this or have heard about this? I've got a strange feeling I may be getting these photos back again when someone else in Austin gives me their opinion on what I should have done. My father in law just got his plastic and we took the class together. Maybe I'll get mine before Christmas.

that's true, you can have any peace officer sign the back of the photo.

I got my photos back in late May. I went to Walgreen's and had another set made as suggested by someone at DPS. I did that between the time I called and asked what my detailed letter would say and when I got the old photos back. The old photos were not signed by either party, me or the fingerprinter. They were done in class at Carter's Country in Spring. I called again and was told not to worry. Below is a copy of the letter I enclosed with the new photos, sans signature.
To Whom It May Concern,
Upon receipt of the enclosed letter I contacted your office and spoke with Steve. I told him the old photo you returned had neither signature and asked about the new ones. He told me to send them in that it would be all right. I certainly hope this is correct.
Thank you,
Myron Howard
Guess it was alright since I now have my CHL. From what I've read on this forum it seems to depend on who you talk to and maybe the moon phase
