Welcome aboard. All I can say is pull up a chair and enjoy the conversation.
Take some time to peruse the rest of the forum. If it's anything like my experience, you'll find a lot of useful information which may make you think twice about your carry weapon/choice of holster/carry method. Use the information to your advantage.
Finally, here's to hoping your wait is a short one.

Pretty set on my beat to hell (read: reliable, trusted, abused and missing most of the finish) G19 (although I have many many other options
)

I have a G27 and recently got an MTAC. It is pretty comfortable, but for me the biggest plus is the extra flexibility in clothing options when wearing it. I still prefer OWB. I was skeptical about IWB, but it is a great choice to have.

Others? 1911s, p3at, bersa 380, star megastars in 45 and 10, star firestar 45, some wheelguns, ak pistol lol
Edit: if you meant where I'm from originally (I.E. Why dps wanted my birth certificate) I am a US citizen born abroad outside Sapporo Japan

No, jus solinguis is the same as jus solis. Blood born citizen is just as "natural born" as one who's citizenship is by soil.
