Frustrated

Yesterday I called up DPS headquarters to find out if they had received my fingerprints and my complete TR100. The lady I spoke to asked for my social and told me that they had received it and that they just needed to update the info on the website. AWESOME! I'm thinking, only a couple more months and I should have it. :hurry: :woohoo

After reading more of the stories here yesterday, I decided to give em a call today and find out my status. I give the lady my social then she proceeded to ask me if I had mailed in the missing information. :banghead: I told her that someone had already told me that they had already received them and just had to update the website. Apparently there was no record of my calling in and no way for her to know who told me that info. So not only does one hand not know what the other hand is doing, but the fingers on the same hand are all doing their own thing. :bigmouth

Any suggestions on how I should proceed? I don't want to cry to my state rep yet since I did screw up and had to resubmit my app, but over a month after me sending it in and no one getting to it seems a bit ridiculous. Maybe I should have included another check.

For my renewal, it took them 1 month to reflect having received my application. I think they pick up the mail daily, but don't check what they got until they start working on it. I would say it takes them 1 month to acknowledge receiving ANYTHING.

I had to resend a DD214 (I actually faxed it to them) and it took well over a month to update the website. I even called the next day to confirm they had received it (they had) but said that it would have to wait until the person handling my application got back to it. I would contact your state rep, its not crying if you elected them. They are there to do a job for YOU.

I emailed my local state rep. this last monday. He got back to me on tuesday. I told him my flustration with Dps. He is a chl holder himself, He told me to give it 2 more weeks. I am at 78 days. If I did not hear anything in that time, He would call dps. He even emailed me back today to remind me to keep him updated on my status. I am in Smith county. Thanks Dan

ALWAYS, ask and write down the first name of the person you talked to, that way when you call back they will recognize that it's someone working there. Mark on your calender you called "Person A" on Aug. 24th at 3 pm. as an example.

They might even have an employee number.
