Didnt see a January Thread, so please excuse me if I'm mistaken!
Took my class on Sunday at Shiloh Indoor Shooting. I found it entertaining and the instructors were nice, but wow... talk about going over a lot of information VERY quickly! I have more questions now than ever, which I guess is a good thing. Can't ever be too educated with CHL stuff!
Anyways... Mailed packet today, and the wait begins...

Howdy everyone. Well I finally took the plunge, and registered on this forum after being a "lurker" for a couple of months. Took the CHL class Jan. 10 at Lone Star Gun Range near Lockhart. Mailed the completed application packet via certified mail on Monday. DPS got it Tuesday. Received the return receipt today!
Now I will have to impatiently watch for that old pot to boil
The CHL class was informative, and lively, but I definitely need to continue my education. I am looking forward to learning all I can from you "old timers." Thanks for being there!

Here we go!
DPS recieved my packet today......let the waiting begin!
Not part of your CHL class but should be :
http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... 9&p=236044" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; "Never Talk to the Police" for the kids too.
We'll see if the Harris County process has improved...60 days???? Wishful thinking I suppose. May all of your back logs be cleared and a speedy process to all.
Be safe everyone. Enjoy the posts...I sure do.
Stop, control, neutralize.....call 911, request police and ambulance, call attorney......SHUT UP! Remember, even the police do not talk for 24-36 hours after a shooting, and then only with counsel. Why should you be any different?

Welcome, Blackdog!
Nice to see a fellow Harris County resident; you applied just a hair more than 60 days after I did, so hopefully my timeline will be a useful metric for you. I don't want to rain on your parade, but get your contact information for your state rep and senator together.
Again, glad to see you here, and let us know if we can help!

They (State rep and senator) are on my favorites pulldown and get an email now and again for other issues. I hope I don't need them for this but I'm not holding my breath!
"The squeeking wheel gets the grease," my Grandmother always said.......
Thanks for the welcome. Hope it's a short stay!

The DPS cashed my check on 1/21/2009. Application was sent on 1/12/2009. Now I am just waiting for my pin number. I know it is supposed to come in the mail, but is it too early to request it via email?
