Re: "Waiting Room"
1/6/2016 - Bought Ruger LCP through Eastex Firearms
1/9/2016 - CHL-100 @Southern Guns, David Laviolette CHL Instructor
1/9/2016 - Picked up 2nd Ruger LCP at Eastex Firearms
1/11/2016 7:25 PM - This email confirms you have submitted an online application
1/12/2016 11:36 AM - We have received your License To Carry supporting documents. Please allow up to six weeks for processing.
1/15/2016 4:44 PM - IdentoGo Service Confirmation - TX Personal Review
1/15/2016 4:44 PM - IdentoGo Service Confirmation - TX License to Carry
1/21/2016 - Certification of Criminal History [No criminal history] (TX Personal Review copy)
Three of us took the course together and our submittals were all with in a day or two - one of us just received a letter from DPS stating the the instructor's license had expired - apparently what happened was that the instructor put his LTC number on our CHL100's instead of his instructor's number - back to the Southern Guns (the gun shop that hosted the course) to obtain updated CHL100's for resubmittal -
This is fun,
Larry

congrats on the carry now for the rest of us. MikeTjf328 wrote:Received confirmation email on 1/4/16. Website status changed last Saturday plastic in hand today.

I'm glad to stay around for comic relief...TexBman wrote:Yeah maybe someone from DPS reads this website and likes sarcastic humor so they want to keep you around.brooklyn wrote:We'll miss you also when you get your plastic.meyerch5 wrote:I have this dreadful feeling that I am taking over for sweatmachine as the longest tenured resident of the Waiting Room...
Re: "Waiting Room"
It was strange today, since this was the first day since I was confirmed (Jan 21), that I didn't have any hope when I went to the mailbox... Since I had spoken to RSD earlier, I knew for a fact that there was no license waiting for me. I have to say, it was a bit sad. Even as frustrating as it has been, its still great to have some positive anticipation when I check the website or the mailbox.
I'm not calling anymore. I'm just going to treat every trip to the mailbox like Christmas morning!
and enjoy my time in the waiting room with y'all.
Patience.

Funny. For those of us who have been following a bit and maybe not posting a lot, know exactly whom you are referring too.meyerch5 wrote:I have this dreadful feeling that I am taking over for sweatmachine as the longest tenured resident of the Waiting Room...
Like I said, we will eventually get our plastic too......
Re: "Waiting Room"
My wait is finally over....
Completed timeline:
App submitted 12/21
CHL Class 1/8
Fingerprinted 1/8
Docs submitted 1/8
Confirmation email 1/11
Website Changed 4/5
Plastic in Hand 4/6
Interesting thing is I called last Monday (3/28) and the nice lady said it would be a couple more weeks as they're still working on Decembers....All she said that they had all my docs...no other comment....then the website changed on 4/5.
Great forum, it helps with the wait....ya'll be safe and god bless texas

Re: "Waiting Room"
I'm right there with you. I'm just over it at this point, just a big "Meh" with the whole process. I do have my Arizona non-resident, but that's not the point any longer for me. I followed the process, followed the regulations and paid my money to the state, and people who submitted after me (January 25) already have license in hand? I give up.meyerch5 wrote:It was strange today, since this was the first day since I was confirmed (Jan 21), that I didn't have any hope when I went to the mailbox... I felt like someone needed to take over when Sweat graduated. Man, that guy knew how to persevere!mikezee1970 wrote:Funny. Now, on day 78. I am almost frustrated enough to give up... But then I remember SWEATMACHINE! and I stick it out one day more.
(Because honestly, what choice do I have? Go to HEB unarmed?!?! There is some bad looking grapefruit in my HEB, I don't want to face it unarmed. So, I send my wife... and I wait in the Waiting Room.)

Kenneth77 wrote:Since the DPS is involved why cant they just do like when you get a DL take the test and go their nearest office and they can do your background check while you wait , i highly doubt that anything that would be found on there in 5 days or 30 mins is really going to make difference at all ......If your going to kill someone or something i don't really think you would go to all the trouble of getting a LTC they would do what they are going to do .All this really makes the DPS look like a bunch of idiots that could tie there own shoes .

Re: "Waiting Room"
I'm growing tired of this as well. I may just try to forget about it and it'll show when it shows. This checking the website several times a day is just depressing. The phone calls don't help unless there is really something wrong. One day, this year I hope, I'll open the mailbox and there it will be.
Today was my 12 week mark since I was all in 1/13 (email on 1/21).

Re: "Waiting Room"
I think I'll be here passed all of you. I'm on Day 83, 54 biz days. It took 2 days for my prints to get ELECTRONICALLY from Identigo to DPS. That would make it 85 days and 56 biz days. AND my App Date adds 9 days, so that would be 92 days, and 59 biz days.
But alas, there is only one other with my married name in Texas, an attorney, but tens, if not hundreds in Texas & U.S. with my maiden name. And many with records, though I had a non disqualifying misdemeanor 10 years ago, in another state. SO, I'll be here awhile.
Ugh.

Never called, wrote, or emailed. Just waited.
04/06/2016 ---> Plastic in hand today & website change today!!!
I had been checking multiple times a day, so both happened the same day for me... Here's to hoping yours is soon to arrive as well!
Hopefully it means all the rest of the February and earlier ones are close to being done at this time too.
