Application status frustration

#1

Post by USMC820 »

I previously held a chl license in TX and expired due to being stationed out of state. I am currently stationed back in TX and applied for a renewal in late August. I received a letter in early September asking for a CHL 100. I submitted my 100 in late September then I get a letter asking for my immigration status. I called them and told them I'm a born US citizen. They recognized the mistake and said everything was in order then. Then I received a second immigration letter a week later for the same issue. I decided to send my birth certificate this time. I called a week later and they said they received it and everything was in order and will proceed to the next step. This was in September 16. I called today to find out the status and the lady tells me they received my birth on Oct 10 and it will take up to 60 days from that date. So in a month timeframe my document must have been in limbo. Im frustrated because i never get a straight answer. It seems like they tell you whatever just to get you of the phone. Just venting....

Sorry to hear you had so much trouble. Bureaucracy is like that sometimes. Good luck and hope you get it before 11/10.

They say 60 days only because it's an easier answer. If they can process a new chl within 2 weeks they should have no damn issue processing a renewal.
Carrying: either p226 .40 tacops or xdm9
Not native to Texas but got here as soon I could!
