Welcome to Purgatory. Don't check the DPS website more than twice a day, if you can help it (some people say once a week, but come on...).

Welcome to the forum.

Use this time wisely. Practice your method of carry at home to get used to it. Go to the range whenever you can.

Got the signed return receipt back in the mail on 05/07 so they have the paperwork. Now I'll just wait to see a status update on the DPS web site.

Called DPS today with a question and after I was done asked the lady if everything looked in order. She said not to quote her but it looked like my it had been sent to printing so hopefully that means I should see an update to completed on the web site soon and some plastic in the mail.

Keeping those fingers and toes crossed!

the ladies at DPS are very nice, on the couple of occassions I've spoken and visited with them. On a previous renewel I waited the 60 days and then thought I should call them, this was before the website and you could actually confirm they received the package. She was more than happy to check on the application.

Recently, I stopped in at DPS to pick up some application packages for myself and 4 others, I thought asking for 5 might be a problem, but they were all smiles...

Status just changed to Application Completed - license issued or certificate active. I guess the license will be in the mailbox when I get back to Texas from vacation.
