Renewal wait times - update on times

I sent in renewal paperwork about 3.5 weeks ago, system still show they had not received anything. Today I sent an electronic request through their site to see if I had messed anything up, or if they had received the papers.

I got a quick reply (under an hour), stating that :

"Right now it takes 4-6 weeks for our office to confirm receipt of your mailed in materials. It is normal for you not to show a status of your documents being received online for 4-6 weeks. Once we begin entering your documents in our system, you will see status change on the online status check."


The had received mine, and let me know that as well.

Sent mine in last week in may...both electronic and snail mail. Nothing until Sunday night 6/16 then it updated. Everything but finger prints and BG Check.
Today 6/17

Application : Received
Fingerprints : Complete
Affidavits : Received
DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation required
Passport photo holder : Not required for renewal
Photo : Not required for renewal
Proof of Classroom training : Received
Proof of Proficiency training : Received
Fee : Received
Background Check : Under review
Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review


So the wheels are turning......
I do expect to get the card back before they update anything else....that is how it went last time.

Use the drop down for Concealed Handgun and fill out the form It allows attachment of PDF JPEG etc.

My 1st renewal has been going on for some time now. Background check "under review" for over 2 weeks. When I first applied 5 years ago it took 99 business days to get it. Is something going on or am I too impatient?

I just got mine in the mail yesterday. Here is my time table:

Course completed May 11
Completed online application May 11
Mailed docs May 13
Fingerprinted May 13

Don't remember when my status first changed, but went to background and fingerprints complete on June 15

Manufacture pending June 16
Manufacturing June 16
Mailing June 17
In mailbox June 19

Mailbox to mailbox in 38 days.

I just checked the DPS site and the background check is done and the status changed to manufacturing. So, for me, about a month and ten days.

Been out of state for a couple weeks, but just checked and mine is showing as "mailed". Not here in my stack of mail, so hopefully it will be here ASAP. I have a couple weeks until it is required, but this is cutting it a bit close...

Next time Ill do it a month earlier...
